# eth\_getBlockTransactionCountByNumber

Returns the number of transactions in a block matching the given block number.

## **Parameters**

1. `QUANTITY|TAG` - integer of a block number, or the string `"earliest"`, `"latest"` or `"pending"`, as in the [default block parameter](https://ethereum.org/en/developers/docs/apis/json-rpc/#default-block).

## Returns

`QUANTITY` - integer of the number of transactions in this block.

## Example

*NOTE:* In this example we are using public Ethereum endpoint. Ideally, for your own projects, you should use your own endpoint, which you can generate for free by connecting to your wallet [here](https://www.noderpc.xyz/).
